When Lara Trump shared a group photo from the China trip on social media, one face stood out as unfamiliar to many viewers. That woman, a blonde seen among senior officials and high-profile business figures, is Natalie Harp and her job is far more unusual than most White House roles.
Harp, 35, has been Trump's executive assistant since January 2025. But her responsibilities go well beyond what that title might suggest. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that she is, in many ways, the engine behind Trump's Truth Social presence one of the most closely watched social media accounts in American politics.
Stacks of Posts, Printed and Approved
According to sources who spoke to the WSJ, Harp's routine involves printing out batches of drafted social media content for Trump to look over. He reviews them, signs off, and she then logs into his account to publish the approved posts in groups.
This helps explain the almost inhuman pace of Trump's late-night posting sprees. On one particularly active Monday, his account fired off 17 posts within a single hour a flood of reshares, many from supporters calling him the "greatest president ever." One post featured a banner on a vehicle with that exact message. Another showed an AI-generated image of Trump draped in gold text labeling him "The Greatest of All Time." By the time the session wrapped up, the account had posted 55 times between 10:14 p.m. and 1:12 a.m.
Controversial Posts and White House Response
The WSJ report also links Harp to some of Trump's most controversial content. Sources told the publication that the process allegedly includes the racist AI-generated images depicting former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes posts that went up and were deleted on February 5 as well as an AI image portraying Trump as Jesus Christ, which was posted and removed on April 12.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung pushed back on the framing without directly denying the account's management process. In a statement to the WSJ, he said Truth Social has never been more popular, crediting it to Trump's unfiltered communication style. He added that the White House doesn't publicly discuss how the internal posting process works.
The "Human Printer" With a Remarkable Story
Beyond her digital duties, Harp has earned a quirky but telling nickname inside Trump's circle the "human printer." According to journalist Alex Isenstadt's book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump's Return to Power, she has a habit of carrying a wireless printer with her so she can hand Trump freshly printed news articles wherever he happens to be, including his regular golf outings.
Originally from California, Harp is a bone cancer survivor who first stepped into the political spotlight at the 2020 Republican National Convention, where she spoke on stage in support of Trump. She joined his communications team in 2022, and over the years has become a constant and trusted presence in his orbit.
It's a role that blends old-school personal assistance with the very modern demands of a presidency that runs, in no small part, through social media.
