Ever since Karoline Leavitt dropped the news that she's walking away from her post as White House press secretary, the rumor mill hasn't stopped churning. The latest chatter, courtesy of British journalist Rob Shuter's Substack newsletter Naughty But Nice, claims Leavitt has quietly been taking meetings with some of Hollywood's top talent agents.
An anonymous source quoted in Shuter's Aug. 15 piece painted Leavitt as a natural on camera someone who "knows how to command a camera, create a headline and dominate a news cycle," and who's now catching the eye of people who see star potential rather than just political messaging skills. The same report suggested networks like CBS might be interested in bringing her on board.
That version of events didn't sit well with a source who spoke to The Mirror US, though. They pushed back hard, saying the Hollywood-meeting story simply isn't true and that Leavitt's attention right now is on finishing her term properly and continuing to represent President Trump until her last day.
A Related Rumor: Fox News?
The Hollywood speculation isn't the only theory floating around. Separately, a host from Fox's "The Five" has voiced worry that Leavitt could end up joining Fox News once she's out of the White House another sign of just how much guessing is happening about her post-administration plans.
She's Not Leaving Trump's Orbit Completely
Whatever she decides to do professionally, Leavitt won't be cutting ties with the administration. Trump took to Truth Social to confirm she'll continue on as one of his "top outside advisors" once she steps away from the podium meaning her voice likely won't disappear from Trump-world entirely, even if her day-to-day title changes.
The Timing: Motherhood Front and Center
Leavitt's resignation came just weeks after she returned from maternity leave on July 16. She and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, 60, welcomed their daughter Viviana "Vivi" on May 1, 2026. The couple also has a son, Niko, born back in July 2024.
Balancing that kind of demanding, high-visibility job with raising two small children clearly weighed on her. Leavitt already made history as the youngest person to ever hold the title of White House press secretary, and she's also the only one to have been pregnant while serving in the role.
In her own words, posted on X, Leavitt explained that since coming back to work after having her daughter, she'd felt deep down that she couldn't give her kids the attention they deserve while also meeting the nonstop demands of the job. She called it a "bittersweet decision" to leave the White House and start a new chapter.
Her Path to the Podium
Before becoming press secretary, Leavitt cut her teeth as an assistant press secretary and speechwriter during Trump's first term. She later stepped up to serve as his national press secretary throughout the 2024 campaign, building the foundation that eventually led to her taking the top communications job.
What Comes Next?
So far, there's no word on who will take over as White House press secretary once Leavitt departs. Based on her own statement, it sounds like her immediate focus will be her family alongside her new, less public role advising Trump from outside the administration. Whether Hollywood, Fox News, or neither ends up in her future remains, for now, just speculation.
