Lip reader decodes Trump confession to Mike Tyson before height lie 'exposed'

The two men go back a long way. Their friendship dates to the late 1980s, when Trump advised Tyson and helped promote his fights in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Friday’s embrace on stage was a reminder of that history, and the crowd clearly enjoyed it.

The Height Question Returns

White House records put Trump at 6-foot-3, yet photos of him next to Tyson, who is 5-foot-10, suggested the gap was much smaller than the numbers imply. Viewers noticed almost immediately.

This has happened before. In November 2025, Trump appeared noticeably shorter than footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, even though official records say Trump is an inch taller. Moments like these keep the debate alive online, and Friday’s rally added another chapter.

Tyson Speaks Up for His Friend

After the hug, the 60-year-old former heavyweight champion gave a short speech backing his longtime friend and former business adviser. “Thank you, thank you very much,” Tyson told the audience. He said he was happy to be there with “my president” and added that he would never have been in that position without a president like Donald Trump.

Asked about Republican chances in the midterms, Tyson said he thought Donald Trump would win. Trump, however, is not on the ballot this fall, so the comment was a little off the mark.

The rally appearance followed an unusual joint event at the White House earlier, where Trump had also joked about fighting Tyson.

A Brief Exchange Back in Washington

Once Tyson returned to Washington, D.C., he was seen walking with Trump aide Natalie Harp and Energy Secretary Chris Wright. Hickling, analyzing the footage exclusively for the Irish Star, said Harp told Tyson they would have to go around and use a different door. According to her reading, Tyson replied that he was busy on the phone, a fairly curt response.

What It Adds Up To

Between the campaign pitch for Blakeman, the friendly reunion and the renewed height chatter, the Syracuse stop gave people plenty to discuss. As the midterms get closer, appearances like this one are likely to keep drawing attention, for the politics as much as the personalities involved.
